Melling Steeple Chase Tips, Predictions, and Previews

Note: the tips below refer to the 2021 Grand National Festival; updated previews will be available on the week of the 2022 Festival.

Politologue won this in 2018 and was second to Min a year later. The grey is one of three for Paul Nicholls but is perhaps vulnerable to younger legs now. Stablemate Master Tommytucker will surely never find a better opportunity to win a Grade 1 than the Ascot race he finished second in last time. The winner, Dashel Drasher, is very game but has to prove his effectiveness away from his beloved Ascot now. Notebook hasn’t been at his best this season but could relish this track, though he’s got something to find, particularly when compared to fellow Irish raider FAKIR D’OUDAIRIES – second to Allaho in last month’s Ryanair at Cheltenham. He needs to jump more fluently, but this track should help and Joseph O’Brien’s charge looks ready to bag the biggest success of his career so far.

Selection: Fakir D’oudairies @ 11/4
