Greyhounds Betting Tips: Pearl Expected to Sparkle

Tuesday's graded card at Crayford looks to be a nice mix for punters

Crayford hosts a nice-looking card on Tuesday.

Graded cards at Crayford are regularly a nice mix. Four bends, six bends and a hurdle all feature on the card tonight to give everyone something different to enjoy.

There are some good looking opportunities on the board to have a tilt at, with the best saved until last.

Best Bet of the Night is a Pearler

It is a long wait for the 21.02 but it can be worth it for Clunedarby Pearl. Trained by Tommy Batchelor, she scored at this level last week, beating both the pair housed in three and five who re-oppose her.

In fact, she was in front of the pair of them the time before as well when she did not come away quite so well and found herself out the back early. A slicker break tonight can see her turn on the shoulders of the leaders before her superior middle pace wins her the day.

Top Grade Breakthrough for Fury

An A1 affair at 19.24 can see Dalcash Fury finally get his head in front at this level for Julie Luckhurst. This is not a strong looking contest for the grade and he can make the breakthrough at the sixth time of asking.

He has been unfortunate to end up in four A1’s won by Only Maloney and one by Antonella who are as good as it gets at this level. With neither in the contest tonight and four of these winners at the level below last time, it represents his best opportunity yet.

Step up in Trip has Unlocked Potential

Luckhurst should be on the board again in the very next race at 19.44 with Twenty Years. He did not show masses of potential over the 380m trip at Crayford but found the 540m distance much more to his liking last time.

He overcame plenty of trouble to get his head in front where it mattered. Still a puppy, there should be more natural improvement to come, he should be one to follow over this trip.

Carneys to Fizz Home Late

The 18.33 is an A8 contest where Carneys Fizz makes most appeal for Tom Levers. She chased home a nice type on her sole trial in Ireland at Shelbourne Park, five lengths adrift of one who has scored in a very slick 28.75 at Limerick since.

She produced her best race time last week despite doing her slowest sectional which suggests that there is plenty more to come when she puts both ends of the race together.

Grade Drop can Signal Victory

Opening up in A5 looked rather harsh on paper for Oneofourown and Jim Reynolds’ charge is quickly dropped to A6 on her second start, at 20.23. That was about as messy a debut as she could have got, finding trouble everywhere she went.

She showed a fair level of form over both two and four bends at Dundalk, certainly enough to think that she can be a fair grader on these shores. A drop in class should see her take a confidence-boosting step forward on her initial effort.
